About Ramsey Hanafi

Our work is a huge part of our lives.  When something bad happens at your job, it turns your life upside down. In addition to losing your paycheck, you might be losing health insurance, personal property, friends, maybe even some of your identity. My job is undoing as much of that damage as I can to try and make you whole. Whether that is by getting you your job back, getting you paid, or both, I want you to feel like your voice has been heard. That’s my work. Tell me yours.

Best clients ever

I have been practicing employment law and business law since 2009.  My early legal career was multi-faceted and I still draw on those early experiences in my current work representing Plaintiffs. From 2009 to 2010 I was General Counsel for a mid-sized development and environmental remediation company.  In 2010 I joined Kumin Sommers LLP, a Plaintiff’s employment and small business consulting firm. I represented Plaintiffs in employment law disputes and also consulted with Northern California businesses in complex land use, permitting, and regulatory issues.

In 2011, I began exclusively representing Plaintiffs in employment law litigation with Sommers Employment Law Group, a law firm 100% dedicated to California Plaintiff’s employment law. It was a fun ride, and I have helped a lot of great folks along the way.

I went out on my own and started the Law Office of Ramsey Hanafi in 2014. Today I still primarily represent Plaintiffs in disputes with their employers in a wide variety of areas of employment law. I handle individual and class action cases in wage and hour, discrimination, retaliation, sexual harassment, wrongful termination, hostile work environment, unpaid commissions, misclassification cases, independent contractor cases, and many others. My office is in San Francisco, California but I practice all over the State. Wherever you are, I can be there.

My experience with small business clients and technology startups also provides me with a unique background in the intersection between employment law and business. I have experience litigating and consulting with business clients on numerous transactional issues; intellectual property (trademark and copyright); software licensing; trade secrets; wireless technology; land use and permitting; breach of contract issues; and, of course, consulting with small businesses on employment law issues.

Here’s the boring stuff:

In my spare time, I like to read about the law, write about the law, talk about the law, and think about the law. I know, I’m weird. I just like doing what I’m doing.
